Help Us Train for the Unthinkable: Volunteer as a Role Player for the East Clinton Reunification Exercise
On Monday, July 28, 2025, East Clinton Local School District—alongside Clinton County EMA and local first responders—will conduct a full-scale reunification exercise focused on the critical steps taken after a school-based active aggressor event. To make this training as effective and realistic as possible, we are calling on community volunteers to step into key roles that simulate the chaos and urgency of a real-world response.
We Need Adults and Youth Role Players
Volunteers will help portray students, parents, and guardians going through the reunification process. Your participation helps school staff and emergency personnel practice how to:
Secure a rally point
Communicate effectively with distraught family members
Safely reunite children with their parents or guardians
Coordinate across multiple response agencies
Whether you’re dramatic by nature or just want to help behind the scenes, we have a place for you. Expressive role players are especially appreciated as we test our ability to manage high-stress emotional dynamics under pressure.
Where and When
The exercise will take place at East Clinton High School (174 Larrick Road, Sabina, OH), the United Church of Christ in Lees Creek, and another location in the Lees Creek area. The event will last several hours, and volunteers will be assigned specific roles and arrival times in advance.

What to Expect
No actual danger—this is a controlled training event.
Volunteers will receive a short briefing prior to participating.
Dress for the weather and wear comfortable clothes.
Bring a signed release form (youth must have a parent/guardian signature).
Why It Matters
Reunification is often one of the most overlooked but emotionally intense parts of a school crisis. Practicing it helps reduce confusion, speeds up the process, and brings peace of mind to families. By volunteering, you’ll be directly helping your school district and emergency responders prepare to protect our students.
