About the Event
This hands-on shelter training class is designed for community volunteers, emergency support personnel, and partner agency staff who may be called upon to assist with shelter operations during a major incident — including tornadoes, severe weather events, prolonged power outages, or other disasters that displace residents.
Participants will learn how shelters operate, what roles are needed, how to support clients effectively, and how the American Red Cross frameworks integrate with county mass care response.
