Help First Responders Locate Private Storm Shelters After a Major Storm

After a major storm, damaged homes, blocked roads, and debris can make it difficult for first responders to know where private storm shelters are located, especially shelters that are separate from a basement and were installed after the home was built.

Sharing basic shelter location information ahead of time helps law enforcement, fire, EMS, and emergency management identify where people may have taken shelter during search and rescue operations.

This information is for emergency planning and response use and does not make your shelter a public shelter.
