The following locations have indicated that they will open and serve as storm shelters for the forecasted weather today.

If you just want to get the basics for alerts, text one of the keywords below to the number 69310 to be setup quickly (will not reflect your actual home, but for the area of the locations listed below):



  • COWAN [if you are at the beach or camping at Cowan Lake]





  • QUAKER [if you attend a certain local college]


  • TRUCK [if you work at a certain trucking company administration building off US-68 north of Wilmington]

  • TECH CENTER [if you work at a certain trucking company technology center building off US-68 north of Wilmington]


The following jurisdictions, churches, and businesses have coordinated the following shelters in the event of a need:


  • Municipal Building at 318 E. Main Street, Blanchester, OH 451074. Use the main entrance.


  • United Methodist Church, 68 S 1st St, Clarksville, OH 45113. Church is low on manning, so will only be opened in the event of a warning.


  • Faith in Christ Church (formerly NV United Methodist Church), 11576 OH-28, New Vienna, OH 45159.

  • District No. 6 Clinton-Highland Joint Fire & EMS at 676 West Street, New Vienna, OH 45159.


  • Dove Church, 1499 Rombach Ave, Wilmington, OH 45177. Opening at 2:30 pm till all clear.

  • First Church of God, 200 A St, Wilmington, OH 45177. Will be open tonight only for TORNADO WARNINGS.

  • For the Love of Ink, Tattoos and Body Piercing, 47 South South Street, Wilmington OH. Link to post.
