Volunteers Needed: Help Support Emergency Preparedness in Clinton County
Clinton County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is calling on community volunteers to step forward and support two vital upcoming exercises that will strengthen our ability to respond during emergencies. Whether you’ve volunteered before or are looking for a new way to give back, we have meaningful roles that will make a real difference.
Exercise #1: LEPC Tabletop – Hazardous Materials Response
📅 Date: Tuesday*, June 17, 2025 (correction)
🕗 Time: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
📍 Location: Blanchester area (specific site details shared after sign-up)
This exercise, conducted by the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), will simulate a hazardous materials incident involving local first responders and emergency stakeholders. Volunteers are needed to assist with:
Food transport and setup
Player check-in and roster support
General exercise logistics and cleanup
3 volunteers are needed
Exercise #2: School Reunification Exercise – East Clinton School District
📅 Date: Monday, July 28, 2025
🕗 Time: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
📍 Location: East Clinton High School and surrounding sites in Sabina
This large-scale exercise will simulate the aftermath of a school emergency requiring family reunification operations. Volunteers will serve in one of two key roles:
Exercise Support Team: Assist EMA Director and exercise controllers with logistics, timekeeping, coordination, and site support. 4 Volunteers are needed.
Reunification Center Volunteer Staff Trainees: Learn how to set up and operate a family reunification center—an important contingency capability that can support any Clinton County school district during major incidents, especially when school staff are unavailable. 10-20 Volunteers are needed.
This is an excellent opportunity to be trained in a critical public safety role that could have real-world applications in protecting our children and families.
