BOX-14 has been requested to help provide support for the services honoring Clinton-Warren Fire District Chief Bob Wysong this Friday, 5 January 2024. While the planning is still underway, BOX-14 is requested to help with parking and forming up response vehicles for the procession to the cemetery for the grave side service.


BOX-14 members wanting to volunteer for this service should contact Thomas Breckel via email no later than Noon on Thursday, 4 January at breckel.thomas@clintoncountyohio.us or (937) 382-6673.


Details at this time are below and will be updated as they become confirmed by the planning team.


BOX-14 Volunteer Reporting Instructions:

Group #1 (working setup at CWJFD and directing cemetery traffic in Clarksville). Looking for 8-10 members.

  1. Arrive at Clinton-Warren Fire District Station at 8 am on Friday.

  2. Dress for the weather. Members will be outdoors from approximately 11 am to 1 pm.

  3. Setup tables & chairs.

  4. Down time between setup and cemetery transit.

  5. Issue safety vest and EMA radio.

  6. Transit to Clarksville Cemetery to direct traffic together when directed after 11 am.


Group #1 Volunteers (RSVP):

  • Rick Godlove

  • Thomas Breckel (table setup, then transport to BBC to assist with parking)


Group #2 (working parking and procession staging at Bible Baptist Church). Looking for 5-7 members.

  1. Arrive at Bible Baptist Church (55 Megan Drive, Wilmington, OH 45177) no later than 8:30 am for briefing and safety vest issue.

  2. Dress for the weather. Members will be outdoors for arrival, and a minimal presence will remain outdoors for late arrivals.

  3. Additional tasks associated with forming and preparing the procession may be provided, so a degree of mental flexibility should be expected.

Calling all bakers & cooks. Food support requested for VIGIL detail starting 6 pm on Thursday, 4 January 2024. If you are able to provide food or snacks in disposable containers, please contact either Captain Burton (937) 728-1987 or disposables Murtland (937)728-9540 to coordinate drop-off on Thursday at Bible Baptist Church.


Service Information: Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Bible Baptist Church, 55 Megan Drive and St Rte 22/3, Wilmington, with Pastor Josh Dixon officiating. Full Active Duty Fire Honors will be accorded. Interment will follow in the Clarksville Cemetery, Clarksville, Ohio.


The Family will receive friends from 2-8 PM, Thursday, 4 January 2024 at the Bible Baptist Church.



Robert L. Wysong


August 11, 1953 — December 26, 2023

Clarksville, Ohio


Robert L. Wysong, age 70, of Clarksville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday evening, December 26, 2023 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio after suffering a heart attack following a fire call on Christmas Eve.


He was born August 11, 1953 in Wilmington, Ohio son of the late James William & Idella Mae (Constant) Wysong SR.Wysong Sr. On March 30, 1985 in Morrow, Ohio, he married Cathy Wilkerson, who survives.


Bob was a 1971 Clinton-Massie High School Graduate, where he excelled in basketball and was in the Clinton-Massie Hall of Fame and had been with the Clinton Warren Joint Fire District for over 50 years, most recently serving as fire chief. He was a dedicated servant to public. outside of being a loving husband, father, and family man, he was responsible for the formation of the fire district and the training facility. He guided multiple members throughout his career and served as a father figure to many. He had also retired in 2015 from Warren County Career Center after 27 years.


In addition to his wife, other surviving are his son- Andrew Wysong, Clarksville; 2 brothers- James (Debby) Wysong, Jr. of Springboro & Terry (Lisa) Wysong, Clarksville; father-in-law- James Wilkerson SR, Morrow; special canine companions- Brody and Sammie; and a lot of special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother- Ricky Wysong.
