Blanchester residents and visitors should expect a visible increase in emergency responder activity in the village on Tuesday (Dec. 16) and Wednesday (Dec. 17) due to funeral services and related events for a local resident.


To support public safety, traffic management, and emergency access, the following agencies will have personnel operating in and around the community during these times:

  • Blanchester Police Department

  • District 8-1 Blanchester-Marion Fire Blanchester

  • District 8-2 Blanchester EMS

  • Local Fire and Mutual Aid Partners

  • Traffic and public safety support personnel


This presence is planned and intentional and should not be interpreted as an active emergency.

Services are being held in Blanchester for Charles Jacob Wayne “Charlie” Pell, a longtime member of the community. Out of respect for the family and to safely manage increased traffic, pedestrian movement, and ceremonial elements, responders will be positioned at key locations.


Schedule of Activity


Tuesday, December 16

  • Evening visitation

  • Increased responder presence near the funeral home and surrounding streets


Wednesday, December 17

  • Funeral service (late morning)

  • Procession and burial

  • Traffic control along primary travel routes and near the cemetery


Exact times and locations may cause brief, localized traffic delays.


What Residents Should Expect

  • Temporary traffic slowdowns or rerouting

  • Increased foot traffic near service locations


Motorists are asked to:

  • Slow down and remain alert

  • Follow any directions from law enforcement or EMS personnel

  • Allow additional travel time if passing through the area
