Chances for Storms 20 & 22 March


Clinton County will see two chances for storms over the next few days. The first is on Friday, with a lower chance of storms. The second is on Sunday, when storms are more likely and could be stronger. For both days, the main time to watch will be later in the day into the early evening.


Friday – 20 March


Threats

There is a chance for storms to develop late in the day. Not everyone in the county will see rain or storms, and some areas may stay dry.


Hazards

  • Small hail may occur with some storms

  • Brief strong wind gusts are possible

  • Lightning will be a concern with any storm


Timing

Storms may develop during the late afternoon and early evening. Any activity that forms is expected to weaken after sunset.

Sunday – 22 March

Clinton County is under a Slight Risk for severe weather Sunday afternoon into the early evening. Storms are expected to develop and become more widespread, with the potential for strong winds, large hail, and lightning. Stay alert and be ready to act if warnings are issued.

Sunday brings a higher chance for storms across Clinton County. Storms are more likely to affect multiple areas and may be stronger than what we see on Friday.

  • Strong, damaging winds may develop as storms move through

  • Lightning will be a concern

Sunday Afternoon

  • Storms may begin to develop across the region


Late Afternoon into Early Evening

  • Storms increase in coverage and intensity

  • Primary window for strong to severe storms


Sunday Night

  • Storms move out of the area, with lingering gusty winds possible
