⛈️ Debris Cleanup After the Storm: What Clinton County Residents Need to Know

Severe storms can leave behind more than just memories—they leave debris. Whether it’s downed limbs, damaged siding, or scattered belongings, the cleanup process can be overwhelming. In Clinton County, each jurisdiction has its own method and resources for handling debris, so it’s important to know what applies to your community.

In some areas, curbside pickup may be available for storm debris. In others, it may fall

to the homeowner to transport debris to a designated site. For many, that’s manageable. But for our senior citizens, those with health conditions, or low-income households, storm cleanup may not be possible without help.

That’s where Clinton County’s strong network of community volunteers steps in.

Through partnerships with Team Rubicon, the American Regulators, and Masters of Disaster, they can assist eligible households with cutting and moving debris to the curb or loading it for transport. These NGOs are standing by—but time is critical. Forecasts indicate continued severe weather and prolonged rain through Saturday, which will limit the window for debris assistance operations.

Here’s what to do if you need help:

part of a low-income household, fill out a request here 👉 https://www.cc-ema.org/debris.

A few reminders if help is coming your way:

  • These NGO members are community volunteers. They are giving their time freely to help others.

  • Their availability is limited—many have jobs and families. Please be understanding and flexible.

  • They’re human. If someone asks to use your restroom (a.k.a. “the little wood cutters room”), please offer kindness and hospitality.

Storm recovery takes a whole community. Clinton County is fortunate to have one that steps up when it counts. If you qualify and need assistance, don’t wait—make the call today.
