April 29, 2025 – Severe Weather Threat for Clinton County, Ohio


ENHANCED Risk for severe weather (ranked 3 out of 5) this afternoon & evening.


Clinton County residents should prepare for a dynamic and potentially hazardous weather day. A powerful frontal system is moving through the Midwest, bringing an elevated threat of severe thunderstorms across our area this afternoon and evening.



Threat Overview


As of this morning, the National Weather Service and the Storm Prediction Center are highlighting a significant risk for severe weather across Southwest Ohio, including Clinton County. The threat stems from a strong convective line to our west that is expected to organize further as it pushes eastward. Atmospheric conditions are supportive of damaging wind events and may even allow for the development of isolated supercells capable of producing tornadoes.

  • Charge Devices: Power outages are possible. Ensure mobile devices and power banks are fully charged.

  • Know Your Safe Place: Identify a sturdy interior room on the lowest floor, away from windows, in case a warning is issued.

  • Avoid Flood-Prone Areas: Never drive through flooded roads, especially near Sabina, Port William, or along Todds Fork.

  • Delay Outdoor Activities: Widespread lightning is expected. Stay indoors once storms approach.

  • High-Profile Vehicle Caution: Use extra caution when traveling in large vehicles, especially on I-71 and open county roads.
